Birmingham Open Studios

Find me on the 3rd and 4th of October exhibiting at Nook Gallery, 25c Institute Rd, King's Heath, Birmingham B14 7EG as part of this years Birmingham Open Studios.

Now in our 10th year, Birmingham Open Studios allows artists and craftspeople of all experience to display their craft from their own homes or working studios. 170 participants exhibited across 86 homes, studios and venues during Birmingham Open Studios in 2025 – our biggest year yet!

The public can view all of the artists’ work – for free – in the artist’s creative environment, giving them an insight into the artist’s lives and creative processes

Public visits, purchases, praise and commissions give artists a reason to keep creating, and Open Studios means they do not have to pay high commission rates to galleries on sales, instead keeping the earnings themselves. Our ethos is to promote creativity in the area, with a focus on community cohesion

We are growing annually, now covering the following areas: Moseley, Kings Heath, Balsall Heath, Hall Green, Selly Park, Stirchley, Cotteridge, Bournville, Kings Norton, Northfield, Selly Oak, Bournbrook, Harborne, Bearwood, Quinton, Edgbaston and Shirley. We also added the City Centre, Jewellery Quarter, Digbeth, Handsworth and Erdington in recent years.

We have come a long way since our first event of 29 artists over 12 venues in 2017, and we now cover a considerably larger geographical area!

Birmingham Open Studios became a CIC (community interest company) in early 2025. Being a registered CIC allows us to be eligible for more funding and partnership opportunities. If you wish to collaborate or sponsor us, please get in touch.

Birmingham Open Studios CIC are winners at The We Are Creative Awards 2025. Our ambassador is Joe Lycett, and we hold notable institutions including BMAG among our sponsors.
